The Elector Committee for the bishop search process convened on January 11, 2020, at the Episcopal Church Center of Utah. At this meeting, the committee elected the Search/Nominating Committee members for the bishop search process.
After the retreat, the Nominating and Standing Committee organized into subcommittees to start the search process and facilitate the work that needs to be done.
Those are: Listening/Focus Group Subcommittee and thee Profile Subcommittee.
The Transition Committee will play a role in planning and executing several major events, beginning with candidate meet & greets and the electing convention; will help care for the needs of the candidates, the bishop-elect, Bishop Hayashi, and their families; and will educate and inform the diocese throughout the transition.
More details coming soon.
The Bishop Search & Nomination Committee held Listening Sessions across the diocese beginning in August through early October. Input received from clergy and laypeople will help guide them as they prepare the Diocesan Profile.
The Diocesan Profile is a detailed description of the Diocese of Utah that helps those who are discerning a call to be the next bishop learn more about the diocese and its people.
