There has been a tremendous response from congregations applying for grants for the Rooted in Jesus Conference in January of 2020 in Atlanta.
Originally, the Standing Committee had allocated funds from the 150th Anniversary Legacy Fund for 40 laity to attend the conference. Due to the enthusiastic response, the Standing Committee increased that number to 67 lay persons on a first-come basis.
The grant monies allocated from the 150th Anniversary Legacy Fund have been awarded. There will be 67 laypersons attending from 16 different congregations. The diocese feels this is a wonderful investment for our congregations and the diocese as a whole.
Bishop Scott B. Hayashi has expressed his excitement about the response and said: “The Diocese of Utah will be more than well-represented and it promises to be a turning point for us here in Utah.”
While grant monies from the 150th Anniversary Legacy Fund have been exhausted, all who are interested are encouraged to attend the conference. For more information about Rooted in Jesus, click here.
