Bishop Scott B. Hayashi has called for a Pre-Convention meeting for March 4th at 10:00 to noon in order to discuss resolutions, offer information on the Diocesan Council passed budget for 2017, introduce nominees for office, and brief the diocese on the convention to be held March 31st and April 1st at the RL Hotel in Salt Lake City. This year’s Diocesan Convention highlights our 150th year of the Episcopal Church in Utah and features the Presiding Bishop as a special guest. The Most Rev. Michael Curry will address the convention.
The Pre-Convention is an important time to prepare for the packed agenda planned for the Diocesan Convention. The Pre-Convention meeting will be held via electronic web meetings throughout the Diocese. Sites will be announced. Under our new go-to-meeting license, individual congregations can join the meeting from their own churches. Shortly the Diocesan Communication Office will contact each congregation with the meeting credentials. The Bishop asks that all clergy, wardens, and convention delegates attend the Pre-Convention meeting. Any other interested person is also invited to attend. Bishop Hayashi will be at the Episcopal Church Center (ECCU) in Salt Lake City, but all may attend from any of the to-be-announced locations.
